Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    *                  Server using a WebSphere Developer          *
    *                  Tools (WDT) generated cachespec.xml.        *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Servlet caching cannot parse a WDT *
    *                      generated cachespec.xml.                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    WDT generates a cachespec.xml based on a schema,
    cachespec.xsd. Traditionally, servlet caching can only parse
    a Document Type Definition (DTD) based cachespec.xml,
    cachespec.dtd. Parsing errors occur with a WDT generate
    cachespec.xml.

Problem conclusion

  • Servlet caching has added support for WDT generated
    cachespec.xml based on the cachespec.xsd schema.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
