Bug fix: BKRBKUP's "PAUSE" command failed due to an uninitialized REXX variable. This change corrects a bug in the BKRBKUP "PAUSE" command. Prior to this update, PAUSE would fail due to an unitialized REXX variable trap. . Extended function: Enable RESTORE to real DASD devices RESTORE has been modified to allow restore of ECKD or FBA DASD image backups directly to real DASD. The target device must be online but not ATTACHed to SYSTEM. Refer to the updated Administrator's Guide for details. . Extended function: Catalog file space image export Adds a new command, "CATBACKUP EXPORT", to the BKRBKUP command set. When a suitable CMS-format destination minidisk has been provisioned for BKRBKUP and identified in BKRSYSTM CONFIG, an image of the current backup catalog SFS file space can be saved in standard CMS "FILEPOOL UNLOAD" format. If this minidisk is included in a disaster recovery DDRTAPE backup of the system, then it can be used to facilitate recovery of the backup catalog. Refer to the updated Administrator's Guide for details. . Extended function: Enable wild-card args for SET EXPIRE Syntax of BKRCATLG's "SET EXPIRE" command has been extended to allow for LISTFILE-compatible wild-card expressions in the <jobname> and <instance> arguments. For example, "SET EXPIRE SAMPINCR * +1" is accepted as valid syntax for SET EXPIRE. Refer to the updated Administrator's Guide for details. . Update: Sample SVM PROFILE EXECs use the SSI member name to create a unique SFS directory for temp files. When service virtual machines are configured to use an SFS directory for temporary files, the directory path is now generated with the SSI member node name as part of the path string. This ensures a unique non-shared directory path is used for service virtual machines in an SSI configuration. . Update: Sample BKRSYSTM CONFIG updated to reflect new settings for restore to real DASD and catalog export. New settings related to expanded function have been added to the sample BKRSYSTM CONFIG file. . New Items: BFSDUMP SAMPEXEC, BFSLOAD SAMPEXEC Example code for driving BKRBFSTL and BKRBFSLD to back up or reload an BFS file space in BKR native format.
