Error description

  • HPEL logging fails to export the trace from the log viewer if
there are spaces or a space in the directory path

A message similar to the one below can be seen when the failure
    occurs:

    SystemErr

    File
    /C:/Program%20Files/IBM/WAS/
    AppServer/properties/WsLevels.properties
can not be found that contains the level specification.

The "%20" character is where the space should be.

Local fix

  • Use a directory path without spaces or use default WAS logging
    instead of HPEL.
