PI71981: SUPPORT TO RECOVER THE AREA THAT IS THE EXTENDED IOVF PART B OAE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customers cannot use the image copy taken prior to OAE for the
  recovery when the IOVF part is extended.
  
  This fix is for IMS V13 and V14 only.  For IMS V12, please see
  APAR PI17555.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When OAE extends the IOVF portion, the  *
  *                      image copy extension option is not      *
  *                      allowed. Therefore the image copy that  *
  *                      is taken prior to OAE cannot be used    *
  *                      to recover the area that is extended    *
  *                      IOVF by OAE.                            *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
  ****************************************************************
  This APAR enables OAE to extend the image copy that is
  taken prior to OAE IOVF extension, along with the DEDB area, in
  order to recover the area that is extended by OAE by using the
  extended image copy.
  

Problem conclusion

• OAE has been modified to support image copy extention option
  for an IOVF expansion.
  The documentation changes have been included in
  the IMS Fast Path Solution Pack for z/OS Version 1 Release 3
  IMS High Performance Fast Path Utilities User's Guide
  (SC19-4010-03).
