When JAXB optimized marshalling path is taken, the following
exception occurs when getHours() is called:

It appears that Liberty is still using the class
java.sql.Date
which does not have the method getHours().

Local fix

Use the following JVM custom property so that the JAXB
optimized marshalling path is not taken:

-Dcom.ibm.xml.xlxp.jaxb.opti.level=0

Problem summary

This problem occurred because the JAXB XML parser code was using
the incorrect Date java.sql.Date class when invoking the
getHours() method. The code should be using the correct Date
class which is java.util.Date.

Problem conclusion

The problem was fixed by replacing the incorrect Date class
java.sql.Date with the correct Date class java.util.Date when
calling the getHours() method.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 16.0.0.4.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for

Temporary fix

Set the JVM custom property com.ibm.xml.xlxp.jaxb.opti.level=0
to disable jAXB optimization.
