Error description
In IBM HTTP Server 9.0, additional steps were needed beyond "LogLevel debug" + "SSLTrace" to enable basic mod_ibm_ssl tracing due to new Apache 2.4 trace levels being used.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM HTTP Server users with SSL enabled * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SSL trace not always enabled as * * expected. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply this fix if using IHS with SSL * * enabled * **************************************************************** Due to trace level changes in the Apache 2.4 code on which IHS 9.0 is based, mod_ibm_ssl trace was not always enabled when expected.
Problem conclusion
If "SSLTrace" is specified without at least "LogLevel ibm_ssl:trace1", automatically enable ibm_ssl:trace8. Conversely, if ibm_ssl:trace1 or higher is set, automatically enable "SSLTrace". This fix is targeted for IBM HTTP Server fix pack: - 9.0.0.3
