Error description

  • IBM z/OS Explorer - v3.0.0.6

Description :
When submitting a JCL, the job position is displayed in
"My Jobs" list whereas the same job has an "ACTIVE" status in
"Retrieved Jobs" list.
Customer is expecting the position displayed in both lists.

Local fix

Problem summary


    

  • When a job is displayed under more than one RSE JES filter, the
label describing the job can be inconsistent.  Although this
issue has been prevalent from the beginning it has been more
readily apparent since the position attribute was introduced.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The JES subsystem creates a new JES job instance for each job
queried even if there are other JES job instances representing
the same job.  That means when one job instance is refreshed,
the other jobs don't automatically get updated.
