**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All QMF for TSO/CICS V11.2 users installing * * to servers accessed by three part names * * only. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When running QMF1120.SDSQSAPE(DSQ1BPKG) * * to a server accessed by three part name * * only, users may receive a RC8 on the * * job due to error: * * * * DSQ1DEFS VARIABLE T3PARTNM IS YES * * BINDING 3 PART NAME ONLY LIST OF * * PACKAGES. * * * * THE PTFS FOR THE CURRENT QUERY * * ACCELERATION AND * * CURRENT GET_ACCEL_ARCHIVE SPECIAL * * REGISTERS WERE NOT INSTALLED. * * * * PROCESSING TERMINATED.... * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The QMF installation utility program, DSQ0BTDC, was erroneously using the Q.DSQ_RESERVED table to determine the existence of the CURRENT QUERY ACCELERATION and CURRENT GET_ACCEL_ARCHIVE special registers. Because this table will never exist at a server that is being used by QMF for three part name access, the program was unable to validate the registers and would always report them as not existing.
Problem conclusion
The installation logic in QMF1120.SDSQEXCE(DSQ1BPKB) has been altered to bypass checking for the DB2 special registers. The special registers exist in DB2 11 and higher. The DB2 PTFs for these special registers in DB2 9 and DB2 10 are years old now. It is reasonable to bypass this checking.
