Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server Full * * Profile version 9.0 users of * * JavaServer Faces(JSF) MyFaces. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: JSF message severities always set to * * ERROR after a ValidatorException * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The severity of messages is always set (overwritten) to SEVERITY_ERROR when a ValidatorException is thrown during JSF validation. If a developer defines a custom validator, for example, messages they have added to the view will have their severities overwritten to SEVERITY_ERROR. This will be an issue if some other severity was expected.
Problem conclusion
The JSF MyFaces 2.2 code was updated to no longer overwrite message severities. For additional information, refer to the following MyFaces issue: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-4051 The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 9.0.0.3.
