When processing a DSNTYPE=LARGE multi-volume data set Optim uses
multiple DCBs, one per volume. Volume selection is controlled
with the JFCB. zOS does not support this technique when the
data set is allocated with DISP=NEW.

Problem conclusion

  • Optim will detect when the extract or control file is allocated
with a DD DISP=NEW and dynamically allocate an alternate DD with
DISP=OLD and use this to process the read requests.

Temporary fix
