    ****************************************************************
HASH check process for a primary data of HISAM or secondary
index database that has an overflow data set detects an error
from RDJFCB macro, then the process issues FABJ3860E
    ( MSGFABJ3860E ) and terminates with ABEND U3860-04
    ( ABENDU3860, RSN04 ) at offset X'0000E238' in
    module: FABPHSHI.

It may occur if the following conditions are met:
    - The target database is HISAM or secondary index database
      which has overflow data set.
    - HASH check option for the full function database is applied
      (HDPC=Y).
    - IMS HP Image Copy allocates database data sets dynamically.
    - Image copy processes for the primary data set and overflow
      data set run in parallel.

By the parallel image copy process, each database data set is
released just after image copy is taken in the each sub tasks.
However, HASH check process for the primary data set of HISAM
or secondary index database checks if its overflow data set
is allocated in the same address space. If HASH check confirms
it, RDJFCB macro is issued for collecting the data set
    information of overflow data set.

The cause of trouble is that the overflow data set which is
processed in another sub task is released in the interval
between the check logic for the data set allocation status
and RDJFCB macro. As the result, HASH check get RC=04 from
RDJFCB and terminates with ABEND U3860.

Problem conclusion

  • IMS HP Image Copy releases data sets of HISAM and secondary
index database which has the overflow data set just after
database authorization process is done. By this change,
Primary and overflow data sets of HISAM and secondary
index database are kept allocation during HASH check process.
