    In environments that have several deployed EJB modules the
    deployment manager may be slow to start. The delayed start is
    caused by annotation scanning performed on the deployment
    manager during start-up by the On-Demand-Configuration (ODC)
    component as ODC builds its internal state data about the
    environment.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The On-Demand-Configuration (ODC) component has been altered to
    retrieve the containsEJBContent attribute value from the
    application deployment.xml file and pass that value to the
    CommonarchiveFactory prior to reading the application. Providing
    this data to the underlying component facilitates faster
    annotation scanning and therefore a faster deployment manager
    start-up time.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
    packs 8.5.5.11 and fix pack 9.0.0.2.  Please refer to the
