APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The "false" result retrieved by AdminApp.isAppReady()
will only last a small period in the middle of application
    deployment in AdminAgent environment.
The result will turn to "true" before "ADMA7021I:
    Distribution of application Application1 completed
successfully" is recorded in the SystemOut.log of
AdminAgent, which marks the completion of application
distribution. Because of this, an application that is not
ready to start will be known as "ready" by mistake.
This abnormal behavior may cause ClassNotFoundException if an
application is started right after AdminApp.isAppReady()
    returns "true".

Local fix

  • Start the application after "ADMA7021I" is recorded in
    SystemOut.log of AdminAgent.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When the AdminApp.isAppReady command was used in an
administative agent environment, the command returned an
    incorrect application distribution status.

Problem conclusion

  • In an administrative agent environment, the
AdminApp.isAppReady command should not be used as application
distribution should be completed after a configuration
operation is performed to save the application. The code is
fixed to finish the extraction of the binary files when a
configuration save is done. If you would like to continue
the binary extraction process asynchronously in an
administrative agent environment, a Java Virtual Machine (JVM)
custom property is provided to keep the previous behavior. To
keep the old behavior, set the JVM custom property
    "com.ibm.websphere.management.application.sync.adminagent.distri
buteAppAsynchronous" with a value of "true" in an
    administrative agent JVM.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 8.0.0.13, 8.5.5.11 and 9.0.0.2. Please refer to the
