Error description
Chutils utility does not work in WebSphere Application Serve V9.0. The same command and parameters work fine in WebSphere Application Server V8.5.5. The error is "There is no WebSphere Version 8 offering". An example of error is: [root@mrsdl00218 instutils]# ./chutils - installlocation=/opt/ibm/SAnD/WebSphere/AppServer/V9/BASE - setgroup=wasadmin INFO: (Aug 10, 2016 13:07:28) Initializing permission utility... ERROR: (Aug 10, 2016 13:07:28) There is no WebSphere Version 8 offering in the installation location. INFO: (Aug 10, 2016 13:07:28) The permission utility has failed.
Local fix
Workaround: use chown -R command

Problem conclusion
The chutils utility command was updated to support WebSphere Application Server Version 9.0 Offerings, which resolved the issue.
