Error description
The FPO Online Pointer Checker (OPC) utility checks whether the SDEP CI freespace offset points to an address after the last segment in CI. However, FPA Analyze function does not check the value of the SDEP CI freespace offset. By this modification, FPA Analyze will check the SDEP CI freespace offset as does OPC, so MSGFPX0183E can be detected by FPA. FPX0183E

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of HPFPU Fast Path Advanced Tool * * and Fast Path Basic Tools in Fast Path * * Solution Pack Version 1 Release 3 (FMID: * * HAHQ130). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: FPA Analyze function and FPB DEDB * * pointer checker utility do not detect * * the error of SDEP CI freespace offset. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** FPO Online Pointer Checker (OPC) detects a pointer error when SDEP CI freespace offset (DBLKFSOF) does not point to an address after the last SDEP segment. However, FPA Analyze function and FPB DEDB Pointer Checker utility do not detect the SDEP CI freespace offset error. Some FPO modules for IMS V13 and IMS V14 do not use correct version of DBFUTPA. It does not cause problems at this time but needs to be fixed for the future.
Problem conclusion
The FPA Analyze function and the FPB DEDB Pointer Checker utility are modified to add the SDEP CI freespace offset check. If the SDEP CI freespace offset error is detected, the FPA Analyze function issues new 0125 message in the Resolve Pointers report or the Pointer Checksum report, and the FPB DEDB Pointer Checker utility issues new FABA0169E message in the Scan DEDB Area-Messages. Modules FPXDDRVD, FPXDDRVE, FPXDRIVD, FPXDRIVE, FPXU2CID and FPXU2CIE have been reassembled to use correct version of DBFUTPA. ======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== The IMS Fast Path Solution Pack for z/OS Version 1 Release 3 IMS High Performance Fast Path Utilities User's Guide (SC19-4010-02).
