Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
IBM Transformation Extender Oracle adapter users that make use
of LOBs in table insert operations or stored procedure/function
invocations.

Problem Description:
When using LOB objects in stored procedure/function invocations
or in table insert operations, the objects would not be freed
from the Oracle Server until the connection was closed.

Platforms Affected:
All

Problem conclusion

  • All LOB-related objects are freed after making table inserts or
procedure/function invocations.  Before this fix, the temporary
LOB objects would accumulate on the Oracle server, which would
eventually run out of temporary table space, especially after
making repeated invocations and inserts during the same Oracle
session.

Applies to:
8.3.0.6, 8.4.0.5, 8.4.1.4, 9.0.0.0

Fixed in the next service packs and releases.
