  * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS High Performance Image Copy for z/OS *
  *                 z/OS Version 4 Release 2 users               *
  *                 ( FMID=H1J0420 )                             *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR fixes following troubles in   *
  *                      IMS HP Image Copy:                      *
  *                      1. NOTIFY.IC command failure when using *
  *                         COPY process of Advanced Image Copy  *
  *                         function with NOTIFYMODE=COND.       *
  *                      2. IC data set open error by RACF       *
  *                         permission error due to using        *
  *                         invalid data set name when using     *
  *                         OFFLDSTACK=ddn and ddn is allocated  *
  *                         as JCL DD card.                      *
  *                      3. ABEND U2999 occurs when using        *
  *                         OFFLDSTACK=* with either TASKCTL or  *
  *                         GRPLIM keyword.                      *
  *                      4. Create image Copy function and       *
  *                         Recovery function terminates as      *
  *                         error when they detect warning in    *
  *                         DFSMSdss process but restore         *
  *                         process ends normally.               *
  *                      5. PREF option is not applied to        *
  *                         DFSMSdss DUMP command when using     *
  *                         COPY process of the Advanced image   *
  *                         Copy function and creating           *
  *                         secondary image copy with standard   *
  *                         format.                              *
  *                      6. IMS HP Image Copy terminates withe   *
  *                         ABEND S378-24 ( ABEND378 , RSN24 )   *
  *                         when OPEN process of primary image   *
  *                         copy data set fails in creating      *
  *                         Fast Recovery Image Copy format as   *
  *                         secondary image copy data set.       *
  *                      7. Wrong volume names are reported in   *
  *                         the Image Copy Dump Process report.  *
  *                      8. Correct IMS HP Image Copy message    *
  *                         text.                                *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
  ****************************************************************
  This APAR fixes following troubles in IMS HP Image Copy:
  1. NOTIFY.IC command failure when using COPY process of
     Advanced Image Copy function with NOTIFYMODE=COND.
     It occurs when running the Advanced Image Copy function
     with following keywords combination:
     - FASTIC=(opt,COPY)
     - DATAMOVER=ADRDSSU
     - NOTIFYMODE=COND
     - Without VOLSER= keyword
  2. IC data set open error by RACF due to using invalid data set
     name when using OFFLDSTACK=ddn and ddn is allocated as JCL
     DD card.
     It occurs when running the Advanced Image Copy function with
     following keywords combination:
     - FATIC=(opt,COPY)
     - ICOUT=(opt,%STACK)
     - OFFLDSTACK=ddn and ddn is allocated in JCL
  3. ABEND U2999 ( ABENDU2999 ) occurs when using OFFLDSTACK=*
     with either TASKCTL or GRPLIM keyword.
     It occurs under following conditions:
     - AIC, ACIC, FUNC=AIC, or FUNC=ACIC
     - FASTIC=(,COPY)
     - DATA_MOVER=ADRDSSU
     - ICOUT=(opt,%STACK)
     - OFFLDTYPE=S
     - OFFLDSTACK=*
     - Specified fewer number of tasks in TASKCTL= or GLPLIM=
       than target DBDS/area.
  4. Create image Copy function and Recovery function terminates
     as error when they detect warning in DFSMSdss process but
     restore process ends normally.
  5. PREF option is not applied DFSMSdss DUMP command when using
     COPY process of the Advanced image Copy function and
     creating secondary image copy with standard format.
  6. IMS HP Image Copy terminates withe ABEND S378-24
     ( ABEND378 , RSN24 ) when OPEN process of primary image copy
     data set fails in creating Fast Recovery Image Copy format
     as secondary image copy data set.
     It occurs if the logical copy failure is detected in
     creating process of secondary image copy data as Fast
     Recovery format.
  7. Wrong volume names are reported in the Image Copy Dump
     Process report.
     It occurs under following conditions:
     - FASTIC=(opt,COPY) is used
     - DATAMOVER=ADRDSSU is used
     - OFFLDTYPE=F is used
     - VOLSER= keyword is provided but DFSMSdss uses the
       different volumes
  8. Correct IMS HP Image Copy message text.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1. NOTIFY.IC command failure when using COPY process of
     Advanced Image Copy function with NOTIFYMODE=COND.
     IMS HP Image Copy gets correct volume information from
     FlashCopy process and uses it at image copy notification.
  2. IC data set open error by RACF due to using invalid data set
     name when using OFFLDSTACK=ddn and ddn is allocated as JCL
     DD card.
     IMS HP Image Copy builds correct data set name and uses it.
  3. ABEND U2999 ( ABENDU2999 ) occurs when using OFFLDSTACK=*
     with either TASKCTL or GRPLIM keyword.
     IMS HP Image Copy created unnecessary internal ddnames then
     dd names were ran out.  IMS HP Image Copy does not allocate
     unnecessary DD name.
  4. Create image Copy function and Recovery function terminates
     as error when they detects warning in DFSMSdss process but
     restore process ends normally.
     IMS HP Image Copy checks DFSMSdss process RC and reason
     correctly.
  5. PREF option is not applied DFSMSdss DUMP command when using
     COPY process of the Advanced image Copy function and
     creating secondary image copy with standard format.
     IMS HP Image Copy applies PREF option to DFSMSdss DUMP
     command of secondary IC.
  6. IMS HP Image Copy terminates withe ABEND S378-24
     ( ABEND378 , RSN24 ) when OPEN process of primary image copy
     data set fails in creating Fast Recovery Image Copy format
     as secondary image copy data set.
     IMS HP Image Copy corrects its internal control block
     trouble.
  7. Wrong volume names are reported in the Image Copy Dump
     Process report.
     IMS HP Image Copy sets correct volume information in the
     report.

     APAR:
     FABJ4224W LOGICAL COPY FAILED BUT PHYSICAL COPY CONTINUES
               BECAUSE
               - FASTIC=(PREF,DUMP).
               or
               - HPIC IS USING FASTIC=(PREF,DUMP) FOR THE OFFLOAD
                 COPY PROCESS.
     Explanation: Message ADR735W was issued and DFSMSdss logical
     copy process has failed, but the physical copy process will
     be continued.  Because IMS HP Image Copy uses preferred for
     Advanced Image Copy Services.
     System action: Continue the process.
