Error description

  • Hang occurs during rollout during certain situations and
    high
    CPU.
    
    gs : group size
    nj : number of JVM
    ng : number of groups
    
    calculation of the number of groups
    ng = (nj + (gs / 2)) / gs
    
    In the case of "(ng * gs) <  nj", the hung thread issue
    happens.
    
    In the case, the group size is 5.
    
    ng = (12 + (5 / 2)) / 5 = (12 + 2) / 5 = 14 / 5 = 2
    
    then
    
    (ng * gs) < nj becomes 2 * 5 < 12

    There was an issue in the calculation of the number of groups
    and the number of the servers in each group.  It caused the
    infinite loop and timeout.
    

Problem conclusion

  • There was an issue in the calculation of the number of groups
    and the number of the servers in each group.  It caused the
    infinite loop and timeout.  The code has been corrected.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
    pack 8.5.5.11.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
