A new protocol for CF Structure Duplexing of lock structures
called Asynchronous CF Structure Duplexing is now available on
IBM z13/z13s as a Parallel Sysplex enhancement for continuous
availability solution. It requires z/OS Version 2 Release 2,
with the PTF for z/OS APAR OA47796 and firmware support for
Coupling Facility Control Code (CFCC) with service level 02.16

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This APAR adds support to exploit asynchronous duplexing of CF
lock and requests a new function level of IRLM 2.3 provided by
PTF for  IRLM APAR PI68378.
PTF for PI68378 is required otherwise DB2 will not connect to
IRLM.  For additional details on IRLM support of asynchronous
duplexing, please refer to details in PI68378.
Please refer to OA47796 documentation for information on how to
setup environment for asynchronous duplexing.
