APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The IBM WebSphere TX map (.MMS) file can become corrupted
by the import process (either the MIMPORT.EXE command line
utility or the Desgn Studio import feature).

This can occur on very large XML files, containing many
thousands of map rules per map.

Local fix

  • WTXRTC - RTC00045937
    PB / PB
Circumvention: If there are a small number of corrupted rules
(in the Unresolved Rules window) these can be manually removed,
and the appropriate rules can be re-added back into the map
using cut-&-paste directly from the XML.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
IBM Transformation Extender Design Studio, MIMPORT, TIMPORT, Map
    Compiler users

    Problem Description:
Importing map source from the exported XML file with huge number
of map rules has resulted in compilation errors as some of the
map rules were gotten corrupted during import process and ended
up as unresolved rules after the import.

    Platforms Affected:
    Windows

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed a problem with Map Designer, Type Designer and Map
Compiler where they now handle string insertions to the internal
memory blocks properly with out any memory corruption which
could lead to random crashes or unexpected behavior or missing
entries or corrupted entries from source maps, type trees and
    compiled maps.

    Applies to:
    8.3.0.6, 8.4.0.5, 8.4.1.4, 9.0.0.1

Fixed in the next service packs and releases.
