Error description

  • While exporting records using the ClearQuest Eclipse Client by
right clicking on a query and Selecting Export Records, all the
records returned by the query are not exported to the export
file. The problem seems to be associated with the Soft Query
Limit set on the database. We used the command installutil
    setmasterproperty dbset mydbset admin ****
SOFT_QUERY_LIMIT 10000 to limit our query results to 10,000
records. We also setup our DB with a HARD_QUERY_LIMIT Of 20000.
It looks like after 10000 records the export files start
    dropping records.

I set this up on an image with 10500 records and it only
    exported 10025.

According to our documentation, it should export all the records
regardless of the limits, 'Users running a client other than
ClearQuest Web can run queries without limit constraints by
locally overriding the limits using behavior flags. And all
ClearQuest clients, including the ClearQuest Web client, can
save the full result set to a file.'

Here is the way I duplicated:

    1. Created 16800 records.
    2. Set my hard query limit to be 20000.
    3. Set the soft query limit to be 10000.
    4. I exported the alldefects query including all records. I
used a defect record and the format I used was the ClearQuest
    import format.
    5. Look in c:\export\EXPORTALLRECORDS.txt and you will see that
    only 10001 records are exported.
    6. I also, just as a test, used the save query resultset choice
and it exported 16800 records in SAVEQUERYRESULTSET.TXT
