Local fix
set com.ibm.websphere.jaxrs.server.DisableIBMJAXRSEngine to true.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Repeatedly attempting to start an * * application that will not start might * * cause a memory leak. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** JAX-RS 1.1 did not properly clean up application metadata in the event that an application failed to start. Eventually this would result in a classloader leak.
Problem conclusion
Code is updated so the metadata is cleaned up if the application fails to start. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.11 and 9.0.0.1. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
Temporary fix
Do not leave apps installed that will not start. If jaxrs 1.1 is not needed, set jvm property com.ibm.websphere.jaxrs.server.DisableIBMJAXRSEngine=true
