Error description

  • During forward migration from V6 to V800, the PROPCTL
attribute should be set to V6COMPAT.
The V800 forward migration code in CSQIERS3 is making
this change, but it is not getting hardened to page
set 0 in the case where the queue-manager was previously
migrated to V710 and then back to V6 (the reason for
this is that CSQIERS3 is not setting object_changed and
object_length_changed is not set due to the previous
migration to V710, so no update to the object on the page set).

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When a Queue Manager is migrated to V710 from V6, the Queue
objects are updated to set the PROPCTL value that was not
present in V6. This correctly sets this value to
PROPCTL(V6COMPAT). However in the case where the QMGR is
migrated back to V6, and then forward again to V800, the PROPCTL
value will be changed to PROPCTL(COMPAT), which is incorrect
behaviour. This is due to the object definition not being stored
when this value is set during the migration.

Problem conclusion

  • Processing to update object definitions after migration has been
updated to correctly store the updated definition, including the
    PROPCTL value.
