Error description

  • Running a CM BATCH process where GOCCM.REPORT DD is written
to a file causes the process to loop. If GOCCM.REPORT DD is
defined as 'DD SYSOUT=*' it runs fine.

Problem summary

*                 Batch (CM Batch) interface to import         *
*                 and analyze a change, and the users          *
*                 specify a REPORT data set.                   *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS     *
*                      runs CM batch which writes REPORT DD    *
*                      to a file and the job does into a       *
*                      loop.                                   *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
CM batch job goes into a loop if REPORT DD is
written to a file.

Problem conclusion

  • Problem has been resolved. The REPORT DD should use
LRECL=137,RECFM=VB in DCB. DISP=MOD is
recommended because the data set is opened and closed
multiple times during a CM Batch run.
