PI61049: HIGH CPU CONSUMPTION IN THE OMEGAMON COLLECTOR SUBTASK PE SERVER

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• OM/PE is using a lot of CPU.
  The corresponding dump shows many system trace entries with
  the following pattern:

Local fix

• Recycle the OMPE collector

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  Depending on the dispatch sequence during start up of the PE
  Server subtask an event control block may not be cleared.
  As a consequence the PE Server subtask load module FPEVSERV may
  enter a tight loop instead of waiting for a data retrieval
  request.
  
  PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
  The code has been corrected accordingly to clear the event
  control block.
