Error description
The user is debugging an EGL program that uses db2 on VSE. The debugger gets an sql code -302, when the sql host variable length is larger the the sql column size. Example: record dummySQLRecord type SQLRecord CREATOR char(15); // sql column is defined as char(8) TNAME char(18); End
Local fix
Match the length of the host variable with the column size
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * Users accessing VSE DB2 database from RBD EGL Debugger * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * EGL Debugger returns SQL code -302 when a host variable is * * an EGL char variable whose maximum size is larger than the * * corresponding column length in the SQL table. This occurs * * even when the value of the EGL variable is the correct size. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
EGL Debugger now uses correct length for character-type host variables used in SELECT query
