PI58868: Some AppScan Temp files are generated in Windows User TEMP folder instead of AppScan TEMP folder

Error description

  • 1) Expected behavior:
    When a scan is saved temporary files should be generated
    only in the AppScan temp folder as configured in "TempFilesDir "
    advanced option
    
    2) Observed behavior:
         During saving a scan, a temporary files are generated in
    path "C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Temp"
         The size of the temporary files is as large as the size of
    the saved
    scan.
         The file is removed when the save operation completed.
         This behavior happens even when the advanced option
    "TempFilesDir " is set to a different path.
         All other AppScan temp files are generated in the correct
    AppScan temp folder.
    
    3) Workaround:
       Change the user environment variables %TEMP%, %TMP%  value to
    the correct temp folder.

Problem conclusion

  • The workaround to update the user environment variables %TEMP%,
    %TMP% can be sufficient .
    We add the description to update the environment variables in
    AppScan UI and in the documentation.
