Error description

  • In an environment where the security manager is not configured
    to handle mixed case user IDs and passwords, entering a user ID
    or passwords in mixed case for server authentication will result
    in authentication failures. Prior to applying this APAR,
    circumvention is to manually enter both user ID and password in
    all uppercase.
    
    Summary of changes
    
    Eclipse plugin converts user names to uppercase before sending
    down to Connection Server authentication
    The server checks environment configuration to determine whether
    mixed case passwords are appropriate. If mixed-case passwords
    are not enabled, passwords are submitted in uppercase.
    
    User action
    1.  Apply PTF
    2.  Follow the plugin installation or upgrade instructions in
        FUWREAD.
    

Local fix

  • Manually enter both user ID and password in all uppercase.
