Error description

  • The Cordova Webview does not get destroyed when the MobileFirst
    Platform Foundation application goes to the background. When the
    application resumes, a new WebView instance is created and the
    old WebView is still not cleared. These uncleared WebViews will
    take up memory and should be properly destroyed.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * The Cordova WebView does not get destroyed when the *
    * application goes into the background. It remains in a *
    * detached state, and will get cleared only when the Android *
    * OS kills it to free up memory. Resuming the application will *
    * create a new Cordova WebView instance. When the Cordova *
    * WebView handles being destroyed, it never calls the Android *
    * WebView's destroy() method, thus it lingers around in a *
    * detached state. Calling that method, the Cordova WebView *
    * will have the expected behavior. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * -                                                            *
