    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: File URLs contain incorrect number of *
    *                      '/' characters                          *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    File URLs may have an incorrect number of '/' characters after
    'file:' due to the ProtectionDomain constructed in
    DeployedAppInfoBase.getProtectionDomain() method not checking
    the location path of the object prior to prepending file:// to
    the location path as part of the URL for the Codesource of the
    ProtectionDomain.

    This can lead to unexpected locations being returned and causing
    issues such as:

    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: URI has an authority
    component

    when using the CodeSource to obtain and use the URL location or
    FTP invocations being attempted when performing Cipher
    construction

Problem conclusion

  • DeployedAppInfoBase.getProtectionDomain() has been modified to
    take into account the number of leading '/' characters returned
    from the
    WsResource object's res.asFile().getAbsolutePath(); adjusting as
    necessary; before prepending file:// on the URL for the
    codesource of the ProtectionDomain.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
    pack 8.5.5.9. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
