Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool * * for z/OS. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When changing the index from CLUSTER * * to NOT CLUSTER and the table had * * index-controlled partitioning, some * * packages become invalidated after an * * ALTER has been performed. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When changing the index from CLUSTER to NOT CLUSTER and the table has index-controlled partitioning, some packages become invalidated after an ALTER has been performed. DB2 Admin does not have a line command to search the tablespace- dependent packages on panel ADB21S 'Table Spaces'. Using a SELECT statement to search for table-dependent packages after an ALTER has been performed, the query results in no rows returned. In this APAR, a new warning message ADBZ110W / msgadbz110w has been added and a new line command K - 'Show packages on table space' on panel ADB21S to support the search of packages.
Problem conclusion
The problem has been resolved. A new line command K- 'Show packages on table space' on panel ADB21S to support the search of packages has been added. Also, if DB2 for z/OS APAR PI36213 is applied, when the user changes an index from CLUSTER to NOT CLUSTER, DB2 Admin will issue warning message ADBZ110W / msgadbz110w: ADBZ110W This change may cause some packages to become invalidated. To force REBIND on all the invalidate packages related to this change, specify value "M - Mandatory" for "Run REBIND" utility option on the job parameters panel. Explanation: 1- For table, when a table is index-controlled partitioning or table-controlled partitioning and when a change includes any of the following three situations : - adds a partition - Rotates a partition - Changes the limit key it may cause some packages to become invalidated. 2- For index, when the table is index-controlled partitioning and the cluster is changed from YES to NO, it may cause some packages to become invalidated. 3- For table space, when the user change the DSSIZE, it may cause some packages to become invalidated. System action Processing continues. User response If DB2 for z/OS APAR PI36213 is applied, the user can specify "Run REBIND " as "M" (Mandatory) to generate REBIND statements for any invalidated packages on job parameter panels (ADBPALT/ADB2C11A).
