Error description
Selected the table space, then option UT (tablespace utilities) and then option VC (recover tocopy). However, the FIC that was shown was not the last one, which had been done by partition, thus the recover ended up being done for the wrong imagecopy. The last FIC was done for all partitions and therefore should have been shown in the selection list. Note: With the option ICS against a table space, DB2 Admin Tool lists all FIC which had been done as a whole or by partition. DB2 Admin Tool should do the same when using the option UT against this table space with the option VC (Recover tocopy)
Local fix
use ICS command
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS * * who use UT/UTIL/UTL (Utility selections) * * line command against a table space and * * then use VC (Recover tocopy) line command. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The following issues are * * observed: * * * * 1. When using the UT/UTIL/UTL line * * command against a table space and * * then using the VC line command, DB2 * * Administration Tool for z/OS does * * not display the Full/Incremental * * image copy entries. * * * * 2. When using the UT/UTIL/UTL line * * command against one partition of a * * table space and then using the VC * * line command, DB2 Administration * * Tool for z/OS should not display * * the Full/Incremental image copy * * entries on the entire table space * * * * 3. When using the UT/UTIL/UTL line * * command against a table space or * * one partition of a table space and * * then using the VC line command, or * * when using ICS line command against * * one partition of a table space, the * * NUM field does not display the * * partition number of the table space * * correctly. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The following issues are observed: 1 - When using the UT/UTIL/UTL line command against a table space on panel ADB21S 'Table Spaces' and then using the VC line command on panel ADB2US 'Table Space Utilities', DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS does not display the Full/Incremental image copy entries which have been done on a partition of the table space on the following panel ADB21I 'Information from SYSIBM.SYSCOPY'. 2 - When using the UT/UTIL/UTL line command against one partition of a table space on panel ADB21SP 'Parts for Selected Table Spaces' and then using the VC line command on panel ADB2US, DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS should not display the Full/Incremental image copy entries on the entire table space on the following panel ADB21I. 3 - When using the UT/UTIL/UTL line command against a table space or one partition of a table space and then using the VC line command, or when using ICS line command against one partition of a table space, the NUM field does not display the partition number of the table space correctly, but instead displays a blank in the NUM field on the following panel ADB21I.
Problem conclusion
Problems have been resolved. 1 - When using the UT/UTIL/UTL line command against a table space and then using the VC line command, the Full/ Incremental image copy entries will be displayed not only on the whole table space but also on a partition of the table space. 2 - When using the UT/UTIL/UTL line command against one partition of a table space and then using the VC line command, the Full/Incremental image copy entries will be displayed only on the partition of the table space, not on the whole table space. 3 - When using the UT/UTIL/UTL line command against a table space or one partition of a table space and then using the VC line command, or when using ICS line command against one partition of a table space, the partition number of table space will correctly display the NUM field on panel ADB21I.
