Error description

  • An OTMA tracing indicator will be added to the IMS Connect
    Extensions Control Information record (X'00').

When IMS Connect Extensions OTMA tracing is active, key
additional information is made available for data analysis.
However, when analyzing a journal it can be difficult to
identify whether tracing is active or not.
An indicator is required at the start of each journal to
identify whether IMS Connect Extensions OTMA tracing is active.

Key reporting fields can be missing from reports due to
the fact that tracing is not active. An indicator is
required at the start of each journal to identify whether
IMS Connect Extensions OTMA tracing is active.

Problem conclusion

  • Add flag bits to the IMS Connect Extensions Control
Information record (X'00') which indicate the OTMA
    tracing level in effect.
