Error description

  • Session attribute not stored with Oracle as database session
    persistence and MultiRowSchema=true

Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.5.5 *
    *                  customers using multi-row schema            *
    * configuration for database session *
    * persistence on an Oracle database. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The session manager may fail to use *
    * an Oracle database for session *
    *                      persistence when using a multi-row      *
    *                      configuration.                          *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When using a multi-row configuration with "Write all" option
    (writeContents="ALL_SESSION_ATTRIBUTES"), the session manager
    may not store all the affected attributes. This is due to the
    Oracle JDBC driver returning SUCCESS_NO_INFO which is different
    than other JDBC drivers.

Problem conclusion

  • Changes were made to the session manager code to account for
    the behavior of the Oracle JDBC driver.
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.5.9. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
