PI51932: SMF TYPE 120 SUBTYPE 9 RECORDS MAY REPORT THE COMPLETION MINOR CODE (SMF1209CJ) IN LITTLE-ENDIAN FORMAT

Error description

The SMF120 Subtype 9 field SMF1209CJ represents the Completion
minor code for the request.  Normally this value is 0, but if
an error occurs it will contain 8 hex digits representing the
minor code of the error.  These minor codes are normally
written in big-endian format, but in some cases the field may
record it in little-endian format.

For instance, a request timed out and produced the following
PlatformNeutralRequestInfoSection:

The Completion Minor Code is shown as bb12c2c9, but should
really be c9c212bb

Local fix

Manually read the completion minor code in little-endian order.

When using the listening in the controller variant of a ASF
message-driven beans with WebSphere MQ as the messaging
provider, if a request encounters an error the minor code is
placed in SMF 120 Subtype 9 field SMF1209CJ. The minor code is
written in little-endian. It should be written in big-endian.

Problem conclusion

Updated the code to store the minor code in big-endian.

APAR PI51932 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs
7.0.0.41, 8.0.0.13 and 8.5.5.10 of WebSphere Application Server.
