Error description

  • Steps I did are:
on zOS LPAR had these STCs running:
WANGEL - Liberty angel started task
WALS01A - zOS Connect Liberty server started task
    CICSPAZ3 - CICS region
Everything up and running, and I can send REST/JSON connect
    to
WALS01A, which then sends request via WOLA to the CICS
    region
and reply comes back all ok.
    .
I then cancelled WALS01A and restarted it.
This is then the problem, the registration from CICSPAZ3
    does
not reconnect to the WALS01A server automatically, happens.

Local fix

  • stop and then restart the relevant CICS region

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
A CICS link server connects to a Liberty server instance by
using the "BBOC STA" transaction. If the Liberty server
instance stops, the following message is printed in the CICS
    JOBLOG:
CWWKB8051E: The XXX link server lost the connection to the
    following server instance: YYY

When the Liberty server restarts, the following message should
be printed to the CICS joblog to show that the link has been re-
    established:
CWWKB8052I: The XXX link server re-established the connection to
    the following server instance: YYY

Message CWWKB8052I is not shown in the CICS joblog, and the link
between CICS and Liberty is not re-established.

Problem conclusion

  • Code was added to re-establish the link between the CICS link
server and the Liberty server instance, when the Liberty server
    is restarted.
