APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After converting PRF V2.1 inclusion files to V2.2, PRF jobs will
loop during startup if none of the PRF V2.1 inclusion options
    include a CKPTID parameter.

Local fix

  • Use the ISPF interface to go to Option 5 (Global Opts) from the
PRF main menu, then choose Option 4 (IMS PROC). Update the
CKPTID value, issue the SAVE command, then remove the CKPTID
value and re-issue the SAVE command.

Module IRTPRE10 contained an incorrect branch that only gets
called under this specific circumstance. This branch causes a
tight CPU loop which can only be broken by cancelling the job.

Problem conclusion

  • The incorrect branch instruction has been fixed.
