PI48105: MASK PANEL ADB2EDIT DOES NOT VALIDATE MASK DATA

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS' 'E - Edit' function on
  panel ADB2C21 'CM - Mask' does not validate the MASK data
  entered on panel ADB2EDIT.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When customer uses the Change           *
  *                      Management (CM) function to edit        *
  *                      mask lines on panel ADB2C21             *
  *                      'CM - Mask',  there is no validation    *
  *                      of the new mask carried out.            *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  When customer uses the Change Management (CM) function to edit
  mask lines on panel ADB2C21 'CM - Mask', there is no validation
  of the new mask carried out.
  

Problem conclusion

• Validation is enhanced for the following mask types:
  
  SEGSIZE, COMPRESS,DEFER,TSDEFINE,IXDEFINE,DEFINE,
  TSCLOSE,IXCLOSE,CLOSE,TRACKMOD,ERASE,TSERASE,
  IXERASE,AUDIT,DCAPTURE,TBINLOBL,DTINLOBL,FREEPG,
  TSFREEPG,IXFREEPG,PCTFREE,TSPCTFREE,IXPCTFREE,
  LOCKMAX,DSSIZE,PRIQTY,TSPRIQTY,IXPRIQTY,SECQTY,
  TSSECQTY,IXSECQTY.
  
  When the mask is invalid,DB2 Admin Tool will issue message -
  ADBC318E: The overwrite value specified for the >mask_type<
            should be >correct_value<. Mask type =  >mask_type<.
            The current overwrite value is >current_mask_value<.
  
  Explanation: The overwrite value specified for
               the >mask_type< should be >correct_value<.
  System action: Processing stops.
  User response: Correct the definition of the mask and try again.
