Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool * * for z/OS who use Change Management * * to recover the change. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using the 'ALT Alter Table' * * (ALT) function to alter a table in * * an implicitly created database to * * drop/recreate the table, register * * it as a change, analyze the change, * * run the change, and finally recover * * the change, the 'DB2 -START' command * * is executed before the UNLOAD * * statement in the recover job and * * references an incorrect database * * name which will result in the * * following error because the * * database name has been changed * * to another random value by DB2 * * after recreating the table * * and running the original change * * * * ADB5044I *** INPUT STATEMENT: * * -STA DB(>dbname<) SPACENAM * * (>tsname<) ACCESS(RO); * * ADB5060I *** Implicit commit * * performed, number: * * * * -STA DB(>dbname<) SPACENAM * * (>tsname<) ACCESS(RO) * * * * DSNT301I #SSID- INVALID DATA * * BASE >dbname< * * DSN9022I #SSID- DSNTDDIS * * 'START DATABASE' NORMAL * * COMPLETION * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The following error is seen when attempting to register, analyze, run and recover a table after an alter: DSNT301I #SSID- INVALID DATA BASE >dbname< DSN9022I #SSID- DSNTDDIS 'START DATABASE' NORMAL COMPLETION because the database name has been changed to another random value by DB2 after recreating the table and running the original change.
Problem conclusion
Program has been changed to generate the new ADMIN START statement seen below in the recover job when unloading the table which was in an implicitly created database: ADMIN START FOR TABLE >table-qual<.>table-name< CLONE ACCESS(RO) Program has also been changed to parse the new ADMIN START statement and transform it to the 'DB2 -START' command with the retrieved database name and table space name from the DB2 catalog at run time.
Temporary fix
