Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server Full * * Profile versions 7.0, 8.0, and 8.5.5 users * * of JavaServer Pages (JSP) Batch Compiler. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The JSP Batch Compiler incorrectly * * parses a response file (declared * * using the -response.file attribute) * * when the response file contains non * * ISO 8859-1 characters. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A response file declared using the JSP Batch Compiler attribute -response.file is parsed incorrectly when it contains non ISO 8859-1 characters. An example response file that produces the issue is the following (which uses the UTF-8 character encoding): -war.path=C:/ ª ÂÔÇ ¿ »ÔÇó/test.war -createDebugClassfiles=true -keepgenerated=true In the previous example, the JSP Batch Compiler will fail to locate the corresponding WAR file because it will not parse the file location correctly.
Problem conclusion
The JSP Batch Compiler was modified to correctly parse the response file. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.7. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
