Error description

  • A DBD change is made and switch in using /MODIFY PREPARE ACBLIB
/MOD COMMIT. The catalog is loaded from ACBLIB using the catalog
utility program. At this point accessing to the catalog for this
DBD gives AIB return code (AIBRETRN): 108 AIB reason code
(AIBREASN): 338. This suggests the DBD version is not found. The
catalog load job shows a loaded key

    ****************************************************************
AIB return code 108 and AIB reason code 338 indicate the DBD
version is not found. The reason for not finding the DBD was
due to logic errors in Online Change module DFSCPDM0 where
the timestamp in DDIR was set incorrectly. When IMS Catalog
used the erroneous timestamp to locate the DBD, it was not
found and resulted in AIB return code 108 reason code 338.

Problem conclusion

  • Module DFSCPDM0 has been changed to resolve the problem.
Code has been added to ensure the correct timestamps are saved
    in field DDIRGENT.
