Error description

  • DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS issues a message
    "DB2 cmd warning" when using Display Buffer Pools
    on Panel ADB2ZBD and the 'Max DB2 output (KB)' is set
    to the default value of 32 and 'Buffer pool name' is '*'
    

Local fix

  • Set the 'Max DB2 output (KB)' value of larger than 32 to 100 or
    even 1000

    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool for     *
    *                 z/OS who use the 'BD - Display buffer        *
    *                 pools' command to Display Buffer Pools.      *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The following errors are noticed:       *
    *                                                              *
    *                      1 - When using the 'BD - Display        *
    *                      buffer pools' command from panel        *
    *                      ADB2Z 'System Administration' to        *
    *                      display buffer pools, the default       *
    *                      value for 'Max DB2 output (KB)'         *
    *                      is 32KB.  When the user sets the        *
    *                      'Buffer pool name' to '*' (asterik)     *
    *                      to display all the buffer pool          *
    *                      information, DB2 Admin returns          *
    *                      the following error:                    *
    *                                                              *
    *                      'DB2 cmd warning'                       *
    *                                                              *
    *                      2 - When the user changes the Max DB2   *
    *                      output (KB) from 32 to 1000, the        *
    *                      change is not retained.                 *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The following are fixed:
    
    1 - When using the 'BD - Display buffer pools' command from
    panel ADB2Z 'System Administration' to display buffer pools,
    the default value for 'Max DB2 output (KB)' is 32KB.  When
    the user sets the 'Buffer pool name' to '*' (asterik) to
    display all the buffer pool information, DB2 Admin returns
    the following error:
    
    'DB2 cmd warning'
    
    2 - When the user changes the Max DB2 output (KB) from 32 to
    1000, the change is not retained.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Problems have been resolved.
