PI43979: ABENDU1003 WHEN UNLOAD FROM AN IMAGE COPY (COPYDDN)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The processing of the following case where all the conditions
  below are fullfilled is incorrect:
  - the unload request the data from a image copy to be unloaded
  (COPYDDN)
  - the image copy used as input by DB2 HPU contains the data of a
  non partitioned table space
  - the target table space (defined either by the DB2 catalog or
  via the DDLDDn file) is partitioned
  - the DB2 HPU settings specify ONDEMAND_RESOURCE_ALLOCATION(YES)
  The exact symptom depends of the specification of the output
  file allocation, as detailed below:
  - if the output files are allocated via the TEMPLATE feature
  with a DSName using the &PART variable, message IEC130I HPU00000
  DD STATEMENT MISSING is issued and a subsequent ABENDU1003
  occurs
  - if the output files are allocated via the TEMPLATE feature
  with a DSName that does not uses the &PART variable or if the
  output files allocation is done via JCL DD card, the unload
  reports that 0 rows had been unloaded although the correct numer
  of rows has been written to the output file.

Local fix

• Consider specifying ONDEMAND_RESOURCE_ALLOCATION(NO) but be
  aware this might have an important impact on your other jobs,
  especially if your use the TEMPLATE feature.
