PI43597: TCP/IP CONNECTIONS ARE NOT WORKING FOR HOSTS WITH COMBINED IPV6+IPV4 ADDRESSES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• TCP/IP may not get initialized properly in the product
  if one of the connected systems has an IPv6 address. When
  AKD resolves DNS names into IP addresses, it asks the
  resolver for an IPv4 address. Due to incorrect resolver
  parameters, an IPv6 address is returned if it exists. This
  leads to various issues because the code expects an IPv4
  address. One of the possible error messages is:

  AKDM6205E Duplicate connection defined for system Unknown.

  The resolver parameters have been corrected so it returns
  an IPv4 address even for IPv6-enabled hosts.
