Error description

• DSNTINST panel DSNTIPA1 does not check the maximum data set
  name length cannot exceed 44 which is limit imposed by z/OS.
  Message IKJ52507I can be seen while executing DSNTINST, for
  example:

Local fix

• Use shorter suffix and prefix on panels used in DSNTINST
  clist, such as fiel2 on panel DSNTIPT.

  The primary panel of the DB2 installation CLIST, DSNTIPA1,
  allows you to specify the prefix and an optional suffix for
  the local names of the DB2 product libraries.  The formed
  data set names can be viewed and modified as desired on a
  subsequent panel, DSNTIPT.  The names are then applied during
  editing of the installation and sample jobs.  Currently, use
  of long data set names can result in truncation during job
  editing.  Each occurrence of truncation is reported by the
  IKJ52507I message noted in the PROBLEM DESCRIPTION area.
  

Problem conclusion

• In response, the DB2 installation CLIST and jobs are modified
  to prevent truncation during job editing due to long names for
  DB2 product libraries.
