PI42036: USING FORCE TO TERMINATE A DB2 SUBSYSTEM CAUSES KO2O1347E AND KO2O1348E ERROR MESSAGE IN IFI READA/READS FAILURES IN NTH

Error description

  When FORCE is used to terminate a DB2 subsystem it causes
  KO2O1347E and KO2O1348E error messages for IFI READA/READS
  failures in NTH as shown below:

Local fix

• Stop NTH for the DB2 subsystem being stopped before using FORCE
  to terminate the DB2 subsysytem.

  *                      and DB2 causes the READA and READS      *
  *                      calls to fail. The maximum IFIREADTIME  *
  *                      is 1 minute, so usually DB2 is stopped  *
  *                      with FORCE to encounter this problem.   *

  Add logic to determine whether DB2 was recycled.

  CIRCUMVENTION:
  Reduce IFIREADTIME to be less than the time it takes for
  DB2 to be recycled. On a busy system, IFIREADTIME doesn't
  come into play very often since buffers have to be emptied
  more frequently than that.
  

Problem conclusion

• Add logic to determine whether DB2 was recycled.
