APAR status

Error description

  • RACF user changes pswd to include @ but the upper
case routine changes this to 5 (X'F5') in error.

*                      saved so user can now not log on using  *
*                      the password that they entered.         *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF.                               *

Problem conclusion

  • If RACF is not running in mixed case mode then all RACF
passwords are upper cased when entered and when new passwords
are changed and saved. With a German code page the user can
enter a new password with the @ character as part of their
password but this is incorrectly also being upper cased
and becomes a number 5 when saved.
