PI40241: A WEB SERVICE REQUEST USING SECURE SOCKETS FAILS

Error description

The control region will show this error:

In z/OS a java.lang.IllegalArgumentException can be thrown,
resulting in the closing of the connection. The
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException is caused when the SSL
Channel sends a non direct byte buffer to z/OS's
XMemProxyChannel.

Problem conclusion

The SSL Channel code was modified to send  direct byte buffers
to the XMemProxyChannel.

APAR PI40241 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs
7.0.0.39, 8.0.0.12, and 8.5.5.7 of WebSphere Application
Server.
