PI40065: PERFORMANCE ISSUE - HIGH CPU CONSUMPTION OBSERVED DURING THE COMPARE.

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Increased CPU/Elapsed time with CM BATCH.  Further investigation
  reveals most of the time is spent in the compare step of Object
  Compare as one major contributor.
  High CPU consumption observed during the compare step of OC are
  :
  Admin/OC 10.2   -    25 sec
  Admin/OC 11.1   -    30 sec

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The following performance issues are    *
  *                      observed:                               *

  *                      1 - The user observed an increased      *
  *                      CPU/Elapsed time when using the         *
  *                      Change Management Batch interface       *
  *                      (CM Batch).  Further investigation      *
  *                      reveals that a high CPU time is         *
  *                      spent in Object Compare.                *
  *                                                              *
  *                      2 - The user observed an increased      *
  *                      CPU/Elapsed time when using the         *
  *                      Change Management Analyze function      *
  *                      with WSL Validate to validate WSL       *
  *                      having ALTER TABLE..DROP FOREIGN KEY    *
  *                      statements for 24 tables.               *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  The following performance issues are observed:
  
  1- When running CM Batch, Object Compare is the major
  contributor of high CPU usage.
  
  2 -When validating WSL having ALTER TABLE..DROP
  FOREIGN KEY statements for 24 tables, duplicate calls
  to the DB2 catalog causes an increase in the CPU/Elapsed
  time usage.

• Problems have been resolved.
