APAR status

Error description

• Attempting to federate a node to a cell using addnode command.
  The command hangs and after 30 minutes it fails with a SOAP
  Timeout error:
  ADMC0009E: The system failed to make the SOAP RPC call: invoke
  -
  There is a deadlock on the DMGR.

  A deadlock condition was identified which would intermittently
  cause a timeout when attempting to federate a node into a
  cell with the addNode command. The deadlock was identified
  as typically occurs in cells with a large number of servers.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was changed to remove the possibility of a deadlock
  by adding a proper locking order to the objects.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.5.6.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
